The History of
Embodying the brave spirits of heroic Gurkha Soldiers and a tribute to the people of Nepal!
Gurkhas have been an integral part of the British Army for almost 200 years and loyally fought for the British all over the world, receiving 13 Victoria Crosses. Many Gurkhas, who retired and settled in the UK, headed toward entrepreneurship and many of them started restaurant businesses.
They brought their food and hospitality, but Nepalese restaurants lacked a drink to accompany Nepalese food. That’s when Gurkha Beer was born. Now Gurkha Beer is not only limited to Nepalese restaurants but can be found in several Asian Restaurants and all over the Europe.
The New Era
In 2017, the brand was taken over by a young and growing investment company which followed improved infrastructure & logistics, new team and global expansion of the Gurkha Beer Brand. Today Gurkha Beer can be found on several retail units,
restaurants & pubs.
Originally Gurkha Beer was brewed in Nepal to offer the authentic beer taste, however due to logistic and infrastructure complexities, it had to be brewed in the UK. Our brewer is an award-winning brewer of contemporary beers. They have been acclaimed as Supreme Champion in 2012. They only use highest quality of ingredients, the traditional methods and have long experience that results in the perfect pint.
